1. Definitions

Production: A media project in which a Recording is incorporated.
Recording: A specific piece of music offered for licensing by DEEN STARS (including the musical composition contained within it).
Advertisement: A production of no more than three minutes that conveys an openly sponsored, non-personal message to promote or sell a product and/or service.
Entertainment Project: A production not intended for advertising and designed for entertainment purposes.
DVD: Any physical medium on which a production is recorded and accessible via a DVD or Blu-ray player or similar hardware.
Personal Use: With respect to a production distributed via a video-sharing platform, a production where no more than $4,999 USD has been spent on advertising, marketing, and/or promotion.
Royalty-Free Music: Recordings marked as „Royalty-Free“.
Websites: Any online uses (accessible via a web browser and not via an application), excluding social media and video-sharing platforms.
Project (General): A project is defined as any work in which materials from DEEN STARS are used in a professional or commercial context.
Social Media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, TikTok, and other platforms as determined by DEEN STARS at its discretion.
Television: Linear television programming distributed via broadcast, satellite, IPTV, and/or cable TV, but explicitly excluding OTT services (e.g., Netflix, Hulu).
Video-Sharing Platform: YouTube, Vimeo, and other web-based video-sharing platforms as determined by DEEN STARS at its discretion.
Pilot Episode: A production no longer than 40 minutes that constitutes an initial episode of a potential series.
Public Broadcaster: A broadcaster predominantly funded by state funds and/or viewer support on a non-profit basis.
Podcast Distribution Platform: Any online portal through which podcasts are accessed, streamed, and/or downloaded.
Student Project: A non-commercial project undertaken by a student as part of a degree program at an accredited educational institution.
Theatrical Release: Screening in commercial cinemas.
